SEC NRS hosted the meeting with the delegation of the Vietnam Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety (VARANS)

29.05.2012 In period May 28–29, 2012 the delegation of the Vietnam Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety (VARANS) paid a working visit to the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service of Russia.

On May 28 the meeting of Mr. Nikolay Kutin, Rostechnadzor Chairman, with the delegation of the  Vietnam Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety (VARANS) headed by Mr. Vuong Huu Tan, Director General of VARANS, took place.
In the course of the meeting the parties discussed the plan of bilateral cooperation development  and agreed upon a number of events to be arranged by the specialists of Rostechnadzor for VARANS in the  second half of 2012. In particular, SEC NRS will organize two seminar-workshops on the issues of conduct of the review of documents substantiating NPP safety (at the stages of siting and construction), and computer modeling.

Upon completion of the meeting the Vietnamese delegation visited the Training and Methodological Centre for Nuclear and Radiation Safety, where they were presented information on the training programs for the specialists of nuclear safety regulatory body.

Moreover, on May 29 the VARANS delegation visited SEC NRS to discuss plans on rendering assistance to the Vietnamese party in the development of the national regulatory documents in the field of nuclear and radiation safety, and also to share experience in conduct of review of documents substantiating NPP safety.
