RB-044-18 has been put in force

On August 9, 2018 «Recommendations on the development of level 2 probabilistic safety assessment for NPP unit» came into force.

The Safety Guide contains recommendations of the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service on the development of level 2 probabilistic safety assessment for all regimes of normal operation conditions for NPP units (power operation, shutdown mode, shutdown cooling, refueling, maintenance, reparation of systems (elements), heating up, start-up) with reactors of any type for internal initial events as well as for internal (on-site fires, inundation and other internal impacts) and external impacts of natural (flood, tsunami and other impacts) and man-made (aircraft crash, explosions at sites and other impacts) origin (hereinafter referred to as PSA Level 2).

The Safety Guide is intended to be used by engineering, design and operating organizations as well as by the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service.

Recommendations of the Safety Guide cover NPP units under design, construction and operation.

PSA Level 2 may be implemented by other means than recommended in this Safety Guide if those means are justified for safety provision.

Safety Guide contains recommendations on the aims, scope, range, content and sequence of separate PSA Level 2 tasks implementation as well as content and amount of reporting documentation.
