RB-164-20 has been put into effect

On March 12, 2020 the Safety Guide RB-164-20 “Recommendations on Assessment of the Safety Level of Storage Facilities and Conduct of the Analysis of Non-Conformance to the Requirements of the Federal Safety Regulations in the Field of Atomic Energy Use” has been put into effect.

The Safety Guide contains recommendations of the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service of Russia on assessment of the current safety level of radioactive waste storage facilities and conduct of the analysis of non-conformance of the radioactive waste storage facilities to the requirements of the Federal Safety Regulations in the Field of Atomic Energy Use.

RB-164-20 is intended to be used by organizations performing activity related to operation of radioactive waste storage facilities, for which an individual safety analysis report has been or is being developed. In case when a radioactive waste storage facility includes several radioactive waste storages, the assessment of the current safety level of the radioactive waste storage facility involves the assessment of the current safety level of each of the included storages.
