Participation at the EUROSAFE 2019, November 4 & 5 in Cologne, Germany

27.08.2019

This year, the European Technical Safety Organisations network (ETSON) will organize the EUROSAFE 2019 conference, hosted by GRS. For the 19th time since 1999, experts from ETSON member organisations and representatives of regulatory authorities, scientific institutions and the industry from all over Europe and beyond will meet to discuss current topics in nuclear safety, nuclear waste management and radiation protection.

The conference programme does not only offer expert lectures in three different topical seminars but food for thought on more generic tasks and challenges in nuclear safety. In the plenary session, Hans Wanner, chair of the WENRA, talks about “(How) can peer reviews improve nuclear safety?”. To round up the first day, guest lecturer Maarten Steinbuch, distinguished professor at the Eindhoven University of Technology, will share his views on the question “Are robots and AI making a safer world?”

On the second conference day, high-ranking representatives of the European Commission, ETSON, the Forum of Nuclear Regulatory Bodies in Africa (FNRBA) and the nuclear industry meet up to discuss with the audience the potential benefits of international networks.

Apart from its variety of lectures and discussions, the EUROSAFE 2019 conference also offers the opportunity to get in touch with the ETSON member organisations which present themselves at the TSO Marketplace which offers a convenient space for networking. The full programme of the EUROSAFE 2019 and further information on registration and conference fees are available on the EUROSAFE website.

We are very pleased to welcome you to EUROSAFE 2019.
