International cooperation

For the purpose of effective development in the field of scientific and technical support of Rostechnadzor in the field of nuclear and radiation safety, SEC NRS collaborates with organizations and companies both in Russia and abroad in compliance with international programs, agreements and contracts.

Active participation of Rostechnadzor and scientific and technical support organizations in international activities allows for continual improvement of the efficiency of the regulatory activity on safety assurance in the field of atomic energy use, primarily, in the part of regulation, as well as for harmonization of approaches stated in the Russian regulatory and legislative system with the best international practices.

International cooperation is one of the top-priority directions of SEC NRS activity. Aiming to provide regular scientific and engineering support to Rostechnadzor, SEC NRS implements a very strong partnership and participates in the work of Committees, Commissions and Working Groups of the following international organizations:

In 2012 SEC NRS became an associated member of ETSON (ETSON Reports and Publications)

Increasing the share of international activity SEC NRS never forgets to strengthen interactions with traditional and regular business- partners from countries operating rectors of the Russian design (Armenia, Bulgaria, Hungary, India, China, Slovakia, Ukraine, Finland, Czech Republic, Iran). Alongside with organization of workshops and bilateral meetings under Rostechnadzor aegis on scientific and engineering aspects of nuclear and radiation safety regulation, SEC NRS specialists are involved into the Forum of the State Nuclear Authorities of the Countries Operating WWER Type Reactors to discuss current state of safety level and progress of interaction with the purpose to improve nuclear and radiation safety in the Russian Federation and world-wide.

One of the most important and long-term trends of international cooperation activity of SEC NRS is scientific and technical assistance to regulatory authorities of embarking countries in nuclear power development (Vietnam, the Republic of Belarus, Turkey, Bangladesh, Jordan and others). In the course of such kind of cooperation SEC NRS renders different types of services to its foreign partners, including development of national regulatory infrastructure and regulatory and legislative framework, training of specialists, scientific and engineering consulting of the regulator’s activity and joint fulfillment of expert reviews.
