Training of two groups of Vietnamese specialists

15.12.2012 In November-December 2012 in line with the agreement between Rostechnadzor and Vietnam Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety (VARANS), the Scientific and Engineering Centre for Nuclear and Radiation Safety conducted training of two groups of Vietnamese specialists on the issues of safety regulation in atomic energy use, which was finished on December 14, 2012.

The training included the following topics:
- Frameworks for safety regulation in the field of atomic energy use. Computer tools and codes applied for verification of technical decisions adopted in NPP design;
- Regulation of nuclear and radiation safety in the Russian Federation. Review of computer tools and codes applied for NPP safety analysis review and scientific researches.

It was for the first time, when arrangement and conduct of training was carried out under interaction with the State Educational Institution for Additional Professional Training “Center оf Postgraduate Education” (Obninsk). The basis for this was the Agreement between the State Corporation ROSATOM and Rostechnadzor signed in October this year on cooperation on the issues of rendering assistance in creation or improvement of the national nuclear power infrastructures in countries constructing nuclear facilities under Russian designs or planning the construction thereof.

Rostechnadzor cooperates with VARANS in frames of the “Inter-Agency Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Regulation of Nuclear and Radiation Safety in Atomic Energy Peaceful Uses” signed in Hanoi on October 31, 2010.
