The Russian Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent) registered the computer code "Information System for Radioactive Waste Containers"

06.04.2022 The code is intended to display, store and structure information about all possible containers for radioactive wastes of class 4 and above. The code has a user-friendly interface, allows for searching of the required containers according to the certain parameters preset by the user, for changing of the characteristics of the existing equipment or for adding new examples of containers directly in the application, without the necessity to open the source file with the database.

The searching is performed using a container name, its type, class of wastes to be transported and specific activity of radionuclides included into the scope of radioactive wastes. The number of the required containers shall also be indicated depending on the amount of wastes. Moreover, the code allows for downloading of containers certificates to the user computer.

The Information System for Radioactive Waste Containers was developed by a team of authors of the SEC NRS Division for Nuclear Fuel Cycle Facilities Safety, namely: A. V.
