Enactment of RB-016-22

On August 1, 2022 the Safety Guide RB-016-22 “Recommended Test Tasks for Verification of Computer Programs Used in Probabilistic Safety Analysis of Nuclear Facilities” was put into effect.

The Safety Guide contains recommendations of the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service of Russia on the conduct and submission of the results of verification of computer programs used in probabilistic safety analysis, in calculation of probabilistic safety indicators, reliability and robustness of nuclear facilities and their systems.

RB-016-22 is intended to be applied by organizations involved in the development, verification and use of computer programs designated to calculate probabilistic safety indicators, reliability and robustness indices in the process of design, construction, operation of nuclear facilities, elaboration of safety measures for nuclear facilities, as well as by the organization of scientific and technical support for Rostechnadzor conducting review of computer programs used in probabilistic safety analysis and calculation of reliability and robustness indices of nuclear facilities (systems) and activities in the field of atomic energy use.

Recommendations of the Safety Guide can also be used for verification of computer programs designated for calculation of probabilistic safety indicators, reliability and robustness indices of systems of the other hazardous industrial facilities.
