Alexey Ferapontov was included into the Commission of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States on Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy

10.11.2014 Alexey Ferapontov, Deputy Chairman of the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service of Russia (Rostechnadzor) was included into the Commission of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States on Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy. The relevant Decree was signed by the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev.

The Commission of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States on Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy was established in 1997 in compliance with the Resolution of the Council of the Heads of the Governments of the Commonwealth of Independent States on the Prospective Plan of Development of Cooperation between the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States in Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy and Safety Enhancement of Nuclear Installations.

The basic tasks of the Commission are: coordination of efforts taken by the states of the Commonwealth of Independent States to implement the Agreement on Basic Principles of Cooperation in Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy dated of 1992, and the Resolution of the Council of the Heads of the Governments of the Commonwealth of Independent States on the Prospective Plan of Development of Cooperation between the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States in Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy and Safety Enhancement of Nuclear Installations dated of 1997; as well as working out coordinated recommendations and decisions on issues of multilateral cooperation in the field of atomic energy development.

The Commission is formed of the heads of the relevant state management authorities in charge of activities in the field of atomic energy in the CIS Member States in quantity determined by each of the states.
