On November 14, 2017 the Federal Safety Regulations “Safety Requirements for Special Radioactive Waste Disposal and Preservation Facilities” (NP-103-17) is coming into force.

The Federal Safety Regulations establishes the categories of special radioactive waste disposal and preservation facilities, as well as the requirements to safety of various categories of special radioactive waste disposal and preservation facilities.

The Federal Safety Regulations NP-103-17 has been issued for the first time.

NP-103-17 was developed in SEC NRS with the participation of Abakumova A. S., Bochkarev V. V., Nepeypivo M. A., Ponizov A. V., Charafoutdinov R. B. (SEC NRS), Dorofeev A. N. (SC ROSATOM), Vedernikova M. V., Samoylov A. A. (IBRAE RAS). The comments and suggestions of Rostechnadzor, SC ROSATOM, JSC VNIPIPROMTECHNOLOGII, JSC “RAOPROEKT”, and etc. were taken into account in the course of the FSR development.

The Federal Safety Regulations was adopted by the Order of the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service of Russia No. 418 dated of October 10, 2017 “On Approval of the Federal Safety Regulations in the field of atomic energy use “Safety Requirements for Special Radioactive Waste Disposal and Preservation Facilities”” and registered in the Ministry of Justice of Russia on November 02, 2017 under the No. 48779.
