RB-001-19 has been put into effect

On October 23, 2019, the Safety Guide RB-001-19 “Recommendations to the Content of the Report on In-depth Safety Analysis of NPP Power Units under Operation” has been put into effect.

The Safety Guide contains recommendations of the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service of Russia to the structure and content of the report on in-depth safety analysis of NPP power units under operation, as well as to the procedure of the report development and updating considering its actual state.

RB-001-19 covers the NPP power units in operation, the operational lifetime of which was extended and (or) is being extended beyond the operational lifetime envisaged in the design; except for the NPP power units, safety analysis reports for which have been developed or are being developed at the moment of the mentioned Safety Guide approval in line with the requirements of the Federal Safety Regulations in the Field of Atomic Energy Use “Requirements to the Contents of Safety Analysis Report for a Nuclear Power Plant with VVER-type Reactor” (NP-006-16), approved by the Order of the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service of Russia No. 53 of February 13, 2017 (registered in the Ministry of Justice of Russia on May 10, 2017 under the No. 46663), or of the Federal Safety Regulations in the Field of Atomic Energy Use “Requirements for the Contents of Safety Analysis Report for NPPs with Fast Neutron Reactors” (NP-018-05), approved by the Decree of the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service of Russia No. 9 of December 2, 2005 (registered in the Ministry of Justice of Russia on January 26, 2006 under the No. 7413) (hereinafter to be referred to as NP-018-05).

The Safety Guide is intended for the specialists of operating organizations and organizations taking part in development of the Report on In-depth Safety Analysis of NPP Power Unit, as well as for the specialists of Rostechnadzor executing state safety regulation in atomic energy use, and for the specialists of scientific and technical support organizations.

The Safety Guide has been issued to substitute RB-001-05 “Recommendations to the Report on In-depth Safety Analysis of NPP Power Units under Operation (OUOB AS)” (approved by the Decree of the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service of Russia No. 8 of November 22, 2005). RB-001-05 ceases to be in force.
