The “Atoms for Peace in Belarus: Benefits and Perspectives” web-conference

The “Atoms for Peace in Belarus: Benefits and Perspectives” web-conference organized by the Perspectives for Integration Research Centre took place on July 22, 2020. Alexey Kubrin, the Deputy State Secretary of the Union State, and representatives of ministries, embassies, institutes and universities, scientific organizations of Russia and Belarus participated in the event.

The agenda included the issues on the cooperation between Russia and Belarus in the field of atomic energy use, strengthening of the role of Belarus in the energy system of post-Soviet territory, sociopolitical aspects related to the Belarusian NPP project implementation.

Dr. Alexander Khamaza, SEC NRS Director, ETSON Vice-President, was invited to attend the web-conference, and he informed the participants on SEC NRS activities as a technical and scientific support organization of the Russian regulatory authority, including interactions with organizations of Belarus on the basis of the Rostechnadzor-Gosatomnadzor Agreement on cooperation in the field of nuclear and radiation safety regulation in the peaceful use of atomic energy.
