Enactment of RB-046-21

On February 1, 2021 the Safety Guide RB-046-21 "Monitoring of Hydrological, Meteorological and Aerological Conditions in the Location Area of Nuclear Facilities" came into effect. The Safety Guide contains recommendations of the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service of Russia on arrangement and monitoring of hydrological, meteorological and aerological conditions in the location area of nuclear facilities, as well as on the scope and composition of engineering surveys in the process of the aforesaid monitoring implementation, and also on the selection of methods and measuring tools (measurement technologies), applied in the course of such monitoring. RB-046-21 covers nuclear facilities, specified in item 1.2 of NP-064-17 "Accounting of External Natural and Man-Induced Impacts on Nuclear Facilities" approved by the Order of the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service of Russia No. 514 of November 30, 2017 (registered by the Ministry of Justice of Russia on December 26, 2017 under the registry No. 49461). The Safety Guide is intended to be applied by organizations operating nuclear facilities, rendering services on monitoring, engineering survey and research of the location area and sites of nuclear facilities, and those developing safety justifying materials for obtaining a license for siting, construction, operation and decommisioning of nuclear facilities. In this context, the Safety Guide RB-046-21 "Monitoring of Meteorological and Aerological Conditions in the Location Area of Nuclear Facilities" approved by the Order of the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service of Russia No. 1038 of December 29, 2008 shall be recognized as repealed.
