Enactment of RB-003-21

The Safety Guide contains recommendations of the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service of Russia on assessment of long-term safety of radioactive waste deep disposal facilities designed for disposal of Class 1 and 2 radioactive wastes in the part of:

• development of the general provisions for assessment of long-term safety of radioactive waste deep disposal facilities;
• collection and preparation of input data about characteristics of radioactive waste deep disposal facilities and siting conditions;
• development and justification of radioactive waste disposal system evolving scenarios (hereinafter to be referred to as scenarios);
• development and justification of a conceptual model for radioactive waste disposal system and computer models of processes affecting long-term safety of radioactive waste deep disposal facilities;
• development of a computer model (models) for processes affecting long-term safety of radioactive waste deep disposal facilities (hereinafter to be referred to as computer model) using computer codes;
• analysis of the results of assessment of long-term safety of radioactive waste deep disposal facilities.
