Enactment of RB-008-21

09.08.2021 The Safety Guide contains recommendations on development and implementation of a concept for nuclear facility decommissioning for all stages of its life cycle before decommissioning.

The Safety Guide RB-008-21 covers nuclear installations, storage facilities for nuclear materials, radioactive substances and radioactive wastes, and radiation sources, which are subject to decommissioning in line with the requirements of NP-091-14. The Guide shall not be applied to nuclear facilities, the decommissioning of which, in compliance with the requirements of the Federal Safety Regulations in the Field of Atomic Energy Use, is allowed without development of the design documentation for decommissioning.

The Safety Guide is intended to be applied by organizations, performing works on design and engineering of nuclear facilities, as well as by operating organizations.
