SEC NRS Deputy Director, Sergey Bogdan, was elected to be the Chairman for the MDEP VVER Working Group (VVERWG)

21.01.2014 On January 21, the VVER Working Group (VVERWG) started its activity in frames of the Multinational Design Evaluation Programme (MDEP), the functions of technical secretary of which performs the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency. The first meeting of VVERWG will take place in Moscow in the office of Rostechnadzor and will last for two days (January 21-22). Along with the representatives of the Russian regulatory authority for supervision over safety at nuclear energy use the members of the VVERWG include the experts of the regulatory bodies of Finland, India and the Republic of Turkey. SEC NRS Deputy Director, Sergey Bogdan, was selected by a solid vote to be the Chairman of the VVERWG for the next year. The meeting agenda includes duscussion of general issues related to organization of activity in frames of the VVERWG, identification and agreement of technical fields tob e considered in the VVERWG sub-groups, as well as discussion of technical differences in the designs of reactors in each of the above-mentioned countries with the involvement of the representatives of the Russian nuclear industry, as well as dicussion of aspects related to confidential information submission in frames of the VVERWG.
